Therevox ET-4 on some new releases
April 16th, 2013 posted by mike under Artist Profiles, Therevox News.A few new records came out that include the Therevox ET-4. “Images Du Futur” by Suuns has been getting a lot of airplay on CJAM 99.1 here and I’ve really been enjoying it.
There is also a Therevox ET-4 on the newest album by The Besnard Lakes called “Until In Excess, Imperceptible UFO” that has also been on regular rotation in the Therevox workshop. Some very cool interviews with them can be found in the Montreal Gazette and La Presse (En Français).
Therevox Shop Update
February 24th, 2013 posted by mike under Workshop Updates. We are currently in the middle of building the next batch of ET-4’s, and it is not too late to get on the waiting list for expected delivery in May. We’ve also been working on developing a few new products and I’m looking forward to officially announcing them in the next few months.
Recently we had the chance to attend a performance by the Noiseborder Ensemble. Of the many instruments they had on stage, one of them was the ET-4 that they were using to control video animations that were synched to the sound of the ET-4 which was very exciting to see.
I’d also like to thank our fall Intern, Aeryn Ng. He has been helping out at Therevox for the last 4 months helping us build cases, cut wood and solder circuit boards. We’ll miss you Aeryn!
Tweed Road Case
January 5th, 2013 posted by mike under Therevox News.Happy new years to Everyone! We’ve been busy in the shop working on our new Tweed Road Case, designed to fit the ET-4. The sides are made of anodized aluminum and the wooden faces are wrapped in our tweed fabric. The divider on the inside is made of walnut finished with tung oil with a serial number hand-stamped into it. The section for accessories is designed to fit our upcoming expression pedal (more on that later). These cases are a limited production, please email us for availability.
More ET-4 Customizations
November 28th, 2012 posted by mike under Workshop Updates. These custom modifications were done to add several very cool features to the ET-4. Included is an effects loop which doubles as an external audio input with clipping indicator. Headphone jack with volume control, and a knob for filter resonance. Separate outputs were also added for a customer that wanted to send the sound of each oscillator to different amplifiers on opposite sides of the stage – very cool!
Modified ET-4
October 24th, 2012 posted by mike under Workshop Updates. We just finished this ET-4 for a customer that requested a few extra features. Expression pedal/CV inputs to control the pitch of each oscillator, pulse width modulation and VCA gain. We also added knobs to manually hold the position of either intensity key.
